same for found 'over-installations', like installing one license on 2 office machines, rather than 1 office install and 1 home use install per license which is (still) ok. If there are any issues, like getting caught, you will pay damages that are much more than the normal license fee, which you will be forced to pay on top of damages and penalties. It is not OK with ADSK to say the least and directly violates your other license agreements. If you are in business, then stay the away from student versions (if you ask me)! I would like to hear your thoughts if you have dealt with this before.Īnyone from Autodesk that can confirm this for me.
He is supposed to work on this for 4-6 weeks so we need to make a decision of either asking to stop and buy a license or continue to use this student version!? I even try to print it to pdf and still no "watermark" in the pdf nor hardcopy.
I opened it with no such warning about the student version. He told me he has not had any issue at all (no watermark or nothing), I even asked him to send me a copy of the Revit file.
So, my question is if this is legit at all? I know that technically you can't use these type of license for any commercial purpose. For some reason, he was able to renew it year after year to the current version.īUT, his Revit Does say "Student Version" at the top of the program interface. His explanation was it was not a student version (first of all he is not a student) but rather he got this license through the Autodesk assist program back in 2008,2009 for those people who were unemployed and autodesk offered such a license for free. We currently contracted out one of our Revit projects to someone outside the office, I just found out today that he used a "student version" of Revit 2014 on his laptop to produce the work.
